Ubuntu on my Eee

I am as of now still unsure what I’ll do with my eeepc. It’s a great little machine, and was wonderful to me during my holy lands excursions. I got Ubuntu running on it, which is far superior in all ways except speed to the default Xandros distro they have on it. The Xandros has the redeeming quality of booting up in seconds, but Ubuntu can be customized and tweaked in every imaginable way and can play H.264 video (I have some movies encoded that way so I can watch on plane flights, etc..). It was a really easy to install with a USB key, and the EEE custom iso has most of the important changes. All in all I must say I’m quite pleased and would recommend and EEEbuntu machine to anyone going back to school. They’re a little toy plasticish for the traveling executive who would probably want to take a look at the HP mini-note or the new mini Dell coming out in a few months, but that translates to stylish for the student.

I found this post immensely amusing, mostly because I have no idea what you’re writing about. I comfort myself with the hope that this might have been partly intentional. See you in a week or so.
